The Shield of Love is an enduring style that earned its name when Shawn Alladio of K38 Ocean Rescue (and Team Betty) asked me if I would donate some jewelry to gift to U.S. military wives and mothers left behind when their men went off to war. My friend Serena had told me years ago, that when she wore this necklace, it felt like a protective shield against the big bad world. We have since donated many of these necklaces to women in need of a "Shield of Love" and will continue to do so on a regular basis.
