A Wave for Obama

Categories: All, election, surfingAuthor:

I watched the inauguration with much awe this morning.
Then I went surfing.
Conditions were perfect.
A beautiful sunny day in California.
A nice clean swell rolling in, long rides along glassy green walls.
I caught the perfect wave for Obama and rode it with grace.
It was a solid wave, steady, smooth, balanced and transparent.
Just like I hope the new administration will be.

Thank you, America!

Thank you, America, for choosing change!
For making history!
For making me no longer regret I didn’t get a German passport when I had the chance back when I lived in Berlin.
For giving the rest of the world a chance to like us again.
Perhaps even love us.
Cheers!

Sarah Palin Not Smarter Than a Third Grader

Categories: All, election, humor, politicsAuthor:

How important is education as a political agenda?

Here’s a letter Sarah Palin sent out to a friend of mine who is a registered republican (he plans to vote for Obama) asking for financial campaign donations.

Instead of the full date, which would be the traditional way, she has “Wendnesday Morning” on it. That’s right, WENdnesday (sic)!

I think most of us learned how to spell the days of the week when we were in second or third grade and never forgot after that. (sigh….)

I can’t believe that not only did her proofreader not catch this, but that she signed her name to it without noticing the error. Attention to detail on anything she will be signing is the least we can expect from any politician, let alone a potential vice president.
Yikes!

If you think this could be a fake, ask some of your republican friends (if you have any). I’m sure tens of thousands if not hundreds of thousands of copies of this letter went out.
I don’t know about you, but I’d expect a higher level of competence from a candidate.

How the War Came Home

Categories: election, politicsAuthor:

This was passed on to me by our friend Drew Kampion editor of my very favorite magazine Surfers Path:

Check this out and spread it far and wide. Local Seattle-area blues-and-folk artist Jim Page was there. What happened at the Republican National Convention in Minneapolis-St. Paul should have been spread far and wide, too, but the people, the news, the cameras, the voices, they were all suppressed … by the very people who have been trying to slime Barack Obama for the past months. Again, spread this far and wide. It needs to be seen, and heard. Thank you!

Don’t Vote (sequel)

Apparently the original has been removed from youtube, but this sequel is equally worth watching.
